Missing Boy’s Father Pleads for His Return
- Share via
As the father of a missing 2-year-old boy issued a tearful plea Saturday for his return, police and volunteers spent another futile day digging through the city landfill for clues to the disappearance of Jahi Turner.
The boy was reported missing April 25 by his stepfather, Tieray Jones, who lives in San Diego with the boy’s mother, Tameka Jones, a Navy sailor.
Police are treating the case as a kidnapping.
Jahi’s father, Tremaine Sampson of Maryland, came to San Diego to thank the dozens of volunteers who have searched for the boy, but was overcome by emotion while trying to read a statement asking that the boy’s abductor let him go.
A candlelight vigil was held at the annex to Balboa Park where Tieray Jones says he took Jahi on the day he disappeared.
