Police Arrest 4 Suspected Basque Separatists

Spanish Civil Guard police arrested four suspected members of the armed Basque separatist group ETA in an operation that stepped up pressure on the outlawed group, police sources said.
Three of the arrests came in the Basque town of Lekeitio and one in the center of Bilbao in northern Spain. The identities of the suspects were not released.
The operation was ongoing and could result in further arrests, police sources said.
The ETA, short for Basque Homeland and Freedom, has killed more than 800 people since 1968 to press its demands for an independent state.
