Rapist Gets 55 Years for 2 Mission Viejo Attacks

A rapist linked by the state DNA database to separate attacks two weeks apart in Mission Viejo was sentenced Tuesday to 55 years in prison.
Superior Court Judge John Ryan handed down the maximum term for Daniel Metzler, 40, who was convicted March 4 of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl and a 21-year-old woman in July 1992, after Metzler got out of prison for a Riverside County rape in 1983.
