Account of How Baby Was Injured Changes

As her son lay in a coma at a hospital, a mother Tuesday gave conflicting accounts to a judge about how her baby was injured.
At one point, Tamara Sepulveda of Cypress grabbed a stuffed bear and shook it as she showed Judge Richard E. Behn how her ex-boyfriend injured their baby. Initially, the mother said she caused the injuries, but she later explained that she was confused and that the boy’s father was responsible.
Behn is being asked to decide who gets custody of the child, but he soon may face another decision: whether to order the child’s life support turned off.
The father, Moises Ibarra, who is in custody, could then face a murder charge.
