UC Berkeley Chancellor Robert M. Berdahl has recommended the appointment of Stanford law professor and former Rep. Thomas J. Campbell as dean of Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
The UC Board of Regents is expected to act on the recommendation later this month.
Campbell, 49, would fill the vacancy left by Laura D’Andrea Tyson, who earlier this year was named dean of the London Business School.
Campbell served as a clerk to late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Byron R. White and as a White House fellow during the administration of President Reagan. A Republican from the Silicon Valley area, Campbell served one term as a state senator and five terms as a member of Congress.
