Final Tally in D.A. Race Is Expected Next Week

One of the nastiest county campaigns in recent memory remained too close to call Thursday, as a Superior Court judge clung to a margin of less than 3,000 votes over the incumbent in the race for district attorney.
With all but late absentee ballots remaining, Judge Bonnie Dumanis had 259,445 votes versus 256,531 for Dist. Atty. Paul Pfingst. Election officials began counting about 80,000 absentee ballots Thursday and were not expected to finish until next week.
