Couple to Be Tried on Murder Charges

A Chatsworth couple accused of murdering the woman’s husband for $1 million in insurance money were ordered Wednesday to stand trial on capital murder charges.
Jennifer Fletcher, 32, and her new husband, Matthew Fletcher, 43, were arrested Feb. 28 after a long investigation of the killing of Joel Shanbrom in their Northridge home March 18, 1998.
San Fernando Superior Court Judge Alice Hill ordered the Fletchers to enter their pleas Sept. 25.
