The body of a 55-year-old Oxnard woman was found early Sunday floating in Channel Islands Harbor in an apparent drowning, authorities said.
A harbor resident discovered Pamela Dunleavy’s body about 6:15 a.m. floating among the boat slips at the south end of Peninsula Court, Ventura County sheriff’s officials said. Emergency personnel were summoned, and Dunleavy was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim, who showed no signs of trauma, was a part-time resident on a boat she owned in the marina, authorities said. Detectives are awaiting the results of an autopsy.
