Couple Die, Baby Spared as Tree Falls Onto Car

A large ash tree fell onto a parkway and hit two cars, killing a couple and injuring their baby daughter, police said.
The tree fell across all four lanes of the Saw Mill River Parkway north of New York City and smashed onto the back of a sport utility vehicle, rolling it over onto its roof.
The driver, Stephen Spruck, 27, and his wife, Suzana Dedivanaj-Spruck, 31, were killed. But 6-month-old Kristina Spruck had been strapped into a safety seat in the back and was hospitalized in stable condition.
