Cuts Unlikely to Be Restored, Officials Say

Humboldt County supervisors said Tuesday there was little chance they would be able to restore funding to youth and tourism agencies that had been cut.
The county is facing an estimated $8.4-million deficit, and supervisors spent several hours Tuesday hearing pleas to restore some funding. “Everything that isn’t mandated is on the table,” said County Administrative Officer Loretta Nickolaus.
