Republicans Request List of County Voters

State Republicans, girding for a possible court challenge in the governor’s race, demanded a list of the 900,000 people who cast ballots in problem-plagued King County.

Democrat Christine Gregoire led GOP candidate Dino Rossi by 130 votes after the latest tally, which included more than 700 disputed ballots from the Democratic stronghold that encompasses Seattle. Election officials in Olympia are to certify results Thursday.

Republican state Chairman Chris Vance said, “We want to know who voted in the election, and it’s hard to know where we go from here before we get some answers.”
