Boy, 12, Killed in Scooter Accident

A 12-year-old Vallejo boy was crushed to death by a truck after crashing a motorized scooter he had borrowed from a friend about 11 a.m. Saturday, police said.
Gerardo Hollis was wearing a bike helmet while riding the gas-powered scooter, but he was unable to stop at an intersection because the hand brake didn’t work, Vallejo Police Officer Gordon Moore said.
