Oops: The executive producer of NBC’s “Today” show admitted making a mistake when the program didn’t immediately switch to footage of Saddam Hussein’s court appearance in Iraq on Thursday, as its rivals at ABC and CBS did. Instead, NBC stuck with feature stories on a Robert Redford movie and badminton. “In retrospect, I’d do it completely differently,” Tom Touchet said. In fact, he did: “Today” changed the West Coast feed of the broadcast to lead with the Saddam pictures.
