Holiday closures

Sunday is Independence Day; Monday is the day the holiday is observed by most agencies and businesses. The following schedule will be in effect Sunday and Monday.

Offices: All city, county and federal offices and courts will be closed.
Mail: There will be no mail delivery, and post offices will be closed. Mail deposited in mailboxes will be picked up according to the posted schedule.
Libraries: Most libraries will be closed.
Banks: Most banking and savings and loans will be closed.
Schools: Public schools, community colleges, UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton and Chapman University will be closed.
Public transportation: Orange County Transportation Authority buses will run on their Sunday schedule both days. Metrolink trains will run on their Sunday schedule on Sunday and will not run Monday.
Trash collection: Trash will be collected on the normal schedule except in Buena Park, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, La Palma, Westminster and Sunset Beach, where collection will be delayed by one day. Trash pickup the rest of the week will be delayed by one day.
