The 10 horses scheduled to run in today’s fifth race at Hollywood Park -- a $46,000 optional claimer at 1 1/16 miles -- are no strangers to the winner’s circle.
They have combined for 47 victories in 185 races, topped by the nine wins from Truly A Judge. Owned by a partnership and trained by Dave Bernstein, Truly A Judge, a 6-year-old gelded son of Judge T C, is looking for his second win in seven starts this year.
Race of the day: Smart Thought, two for three for trainer Doug O’Neill, is the 5-2 favorite in her Hollywood Park debut in the seventh.
One for the road: Logical Art Form adds Lasix and blinkers after a troubled debut on Oct. 21 at Belmont Park and can spring a surprise in today’s ninth at Aqueduct.
Exotically speaking: A pick three using Jacklin in the second, Rubiano’s Wish, Moscow Moment and Unusual Sunrise in the third and S S Strange, Belbart and Love The City in the fourth.
Winners: Previous day/meet total: 4/30. Money: Previous day/meet total: $27/$166.60. Total money bet: $182.
