S.F. Hotels, Union May Resume Talks Friday

Negotiations to end a bitter work stoppage at 14 San Francisco hotels will probably resume Friday between the union and hotel operators.
Mike Casey, the president of Unite Here Local 2, said a federal mediator arranged the resumed talks as tensions between the sides escalated after the hotel operators’ announcement Tuesday that they would lock out striking workers when they end their temporary walkout at four hotels Oct. 13.
Workers at the other 10 hotels were locked out last Friday, two days after the strike began.
