Since Michael Moore’s film about President Bush and the invasion of Iraq was released this summer, it has become the top-grossing feature-length documentary ever. Now, its DVD release is prompting the arrival of several other political documentaries and even a TV series on disc.

The “Fahrenheit 9/11” DVD is filled with extras, including a look at the people of Iraq, a tongue-in-cheek portrait of the elderly men who patrol the coast of Florida, an extended interview with Marine Abdul Henderson and President Bush’s press briefing after his meeting with the 9/11 commission.

Other offerings: MGM is releasing a “Michael Moore DVD Collector’s Set” ($30) that features “Bowling for Columbine” and “The Big One,” and a new bonus disc featurette that offers a behind-the-scenes look at Moore’s “Dude, Where’s My Country?” book tour.

“Horns and Halos” (Go Kart Films, $25) is a documentary about President Bush; J.H. Hatfield, author of the Bush biography “Fortunate Son”; and an underground publisher, Sander Hicks of Soft Skull Press. It was directed by Suki Hawley and Michael Galinsky. The two-disc set includes commentary, deleted and extended footage and interviews.

“George W. Bush: Faith in the White House” (GoodTimes, $15) is a conservative response to the anti-Bush films. “Faith” examines the president’s spiritual side. Besides interviews with Bush friends and authors such as Stephen Mansfield, the documentary features dramatizations. Extras include extended interviews.

New from Universal is the “The War Room” ($15) from D.A. Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus. The Oscar-nominated documentary offers a fly-on-the-wall look at the inner sanctum of the 1992 Clinton campaign. Extras include new interviews with Pennebaker and Hegedus.

In 1988, cartoonist Garry Trudeau teamed with director Robert Altman for the HBO mockumentary series “Tanner ‘88” (Criterion, $30). The series follows the campaign of Jack Tanner (Michael Murphy), who runs for president against such hopefuls as George H. W. Bush, Jesse Jackson, Gary Hart and Michael Dukakis. The majority of nominees appear as themselves. The DVD includes a Trudeau-Altman conversation.

Not available for preview was “George W. Bushisms” (St. Clair Vision, $13). Based on the bestselling book, the disc highlights the “accidental wit and wisdom of our president.”

Arriving Tuesday from Tartan Video ($20) is the recent documentary “Bush’s Brain.” Based on the book by James C. Moore and Wayne Slater, the film explores the relationship between Bush and advisor Karl Rove. The DVD contains extra interviews.

Jena Malone, Mandy Moore

Satire starring Jena Malone as a high school student who believes that Jesus told her to have sex with her gay boyfriend to save him from damnation. The digital edition has a making-of featurette, outtakes and passable commentary.
