An Anaheim man was killed late Friday when three vehicles struck him as he was trying to cross the Orange Freeway, authorities said.
Kenneth Richard Pilger, 26, was walking from the center divider at 8:45 p.m. when he was struck by a 2003 Honda CRV in the northbound carpool lane near Lincoln Avenue, the California Highway Patrol said. The impact threw Pilger into the next lane, where two more vehicles crashed into him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said they didn’t know what Pilger was doing on the freeway.
