The Clones Are Coming

Anew TV season is upon us, so brace yourself for the onslaught of “Law & Orders” and “CSIs.”
And don’t be fooled by all the hype -- the broadcast networks are terribly worried about their shrinking market share in a 500-channel cable and satellite universe, not to mention the absence of new concepts, leading them to rely increasingly on a few successful franchises being cloned throughout their prime-time schedules.
A look ahead at the 15 most-watched network shows of the 2014 season suggests that their current worries are indeed well founded.
