Sheriff’s Deputy Hit and Killed on Bicycle Ride

An off-duty San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputy was killed Wednesday evening after being struck by a pickup while riding his bicycle on Bear Valley Road, authorities said.
William Mansfield, 45, of Victorville was taken by helicopter to Loma Linda University Medical Center and died during surgery.
The accident is under investigation.
