An 18-year-old driver and her three passengers died late Thursday in Perris when she ran a stop sign and her car was broadsided, authorities said Friday.
The 11:40 p.m. crash was Riverside County’s deadliest this year, said Sheriff’s Department spokesman Dennis Gutierrez.
Christina Molina of Perris was driving north on Murietta Road and failed to stop at Nuevo Road, police said. Her car was broadsided by a vehicle driven by Linda Pina, 48, of Nuevo.
Molina, Marisela Vega, 18, and Luis Banuelos, 18, all of Perris, died in the car, while Damian Marmolejo, 22, of Perris was ejected and died at the scene, officials said. Pina suffered moderate injuries, Gutierrez said.
Toxicology test results for Molina are pending, sheriff’s officials said, and alcohol or drug use by Pina was ruled out.
