‘Wedding singer’ to hit the stage

“The Wedding Singer” finally has a date. The new musical based on the 1998 movie will open in Seattle on Feb. 8 and on Broadway in April 2006.
Casting hasn’t been announced, but Adam Sandler will not repeat his film role, said co-producer Margo Lion. Compared to the movie, the musical will have “perhaps more emphasis on the make-it-big, make-a-buck world of the ‘80s,” she added.
