A dim view of ‘Times Light’
Over the last 40 years that I have been a Times subscriber, I’ve witnessed many changes in format, but none have been as severe and have diminished the content as your most recent changes [to the editorial pages]. The visual layout is poor, with harsh black lines dividing articles; but worse than that is the dearth of letters to the editor.
For almost four decades I have relished the Opinion section of The Times, savoring the letters especially. Now, you have resorted to “Times Light,” with one-half to two-thirds of the letters content you have printed previously. Saturday’s section used to be especially wonderful -- I could depend on reading even more letters to the editor, some in depth. Not any more.
You have diluted and axed the Opinion section, until finally today there is a huge advertisement giving way to even less content. Sadly, I am learning to live without The Times. It’s just not the same anymore.
