Six Flags Inc. named two executives, including an ESPN television programmer, to lead a new unit that will revamp the company’s struggling theme parks.
Mark Quenzel was appointed executive vice president of park strategy and management, Six Flags said. He was most recently senior vice president of programming and production at ESPN.
Chuck Hendrix, who heads Six Flags’ Houston park, will be a senior vice president of the division that will oversee all 30 theme parks, ticket sales and in-park revenue.
The appointments are the first by Mark Shapiro, a former ESPN television producer who was named Six Flags chief executive this month when Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder took control of the company.
