DaimlerChrysler to Sell Engine Maker MTU

DaimlerChrysler said it was selling diesel-engine maker MTU Friedrichshafen to private equity group EQT as it focuses on its core vehicles business.
DaimlerChrysler valued its off-highway business unit at 1.6 billion euros ($1.9 billion). Besides MTU Friedrichshafen, the sale includes the off-highway activities of Detroit Diesel Corp.
