RE “Ho-Ho, Hack-Hack” [Dec. 22]: I just had to drop a line of appreciation after reading Chris Erskine’s column. I don’t have kids and am not even married at the moment, but you make me appreciate husbands and family life.

I have especially loved the columns since the littlest guy came along. I often clip and send them to my ex-husband, who is 53 and trying for kids with his much-younger wife, just to share with him the joys and craziness he is about to embark on.

The writing style is totally unique, and Erskine’s humorous, dead-on outlook is a joy. Thanks for the many laugh-out-loud moments you bring.
