2. taly: The Beautiful Cookbook by Lorenza De’Medici (Beautiful Cookbooks, $55) Local retail promotion of the new edition of the popular 1990s series has propelled some individual titles onto this list.
3. French Women Don’t Get Fat: The Secret of Eating for Pleasure by Mireille Guiliano (Knopf, $22) How to eat chocolate mousse and maintain your ideal weight by the CEO of Clicquot (the Champagne house).
4. Bouchon by Thomas Keller (Artisan, $50) A great big coffee-table book of bistro recipes from Keller’s Napa Valley restaurant Bouchon.
5. Thailand: The Beautiful Cookbook by Panurat Poladitmontr (Beautiful Cookbooks, $55) Another in the “Beautiful” series.
6. The Taste of the Season: Inspired Recipes for Fall and Winter by Diane Rossen Worthington (Chronicle, $24.95) A steady seller by the author of “The Taste of Summer” and “Seriously Simple.”
7. All About Braising: The Art of Uncomplicated Cooking by Molly Stevens (W.W. Norton & Co., $35) Contemporary recipes (veal shoulder braised with figs and sherry, braised endive with prosciutto) using a time-honored technique.
