Trust Fund Is Created for Mayoral Transition

The City Council voted Tuesday to create a special trust fund that would raise money to pay for Mayor-elect Antonio Villaraigosa’s transition team and inauguration.
Campaign officials stressed that no taxpayer funds would be used. Instead, individuals would be allowed to donate up to $10,000 to the fund, which would be capped at $200,000.
