Local Couple Suspected of False Katrina Claims

A Moreno Valley couple were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of falsely claiming to have lost a home in New Orleans and applying for $31,000 in aid.
Antuan L. Moore, 35, and Patricia G. Noblitt, 22, told officials at a federal assistance center in Riverside this week that they were a displaced married couple who had lost a recently purchased $65,000 home in New Orleans, police said.
They applied for aid, but center workers recognized them as locals and called police.
Investigators said the street where the couple claimed to have lived in New Orleans did not exist, and that their stories differed as to how they arrived in California.
