Toxic Day-Care Center Prompts Inspections

New Jersey will inspect 1,846 sites removed from a list of contaminated properties in response to revelations that a day-care center opened in one such site, a former thermometer factory in Franklinville.
One-third of the children who attended the Kiddie Kollege center have tested positive for elevated mercury levels, but none had a dangerous level of the toxin in their system, the state health department reported.
