Former Los Angeles real estate executive Richard Gilchrist will become head of Irvine Co.’s office division next month, the company announced.
Gilchrist, 60, recently resigned his previous position as president and co-chief executive of Maguire Properties Inc.
The real estate investment trust is the largest office landlord in downtown Los Angeles and also owns and develops property in Orange County. Gilchrist helped take Maguire Properties public in 2003.
Gilchrist will replace Bill Halford, who left earlier this year to become president of Bixby Land Co. in Long Beach.
