Restaurants, hotels are not destinations

THE March 5 Her World was Susan Spano’s best column [“Cultural Gems in War’s Cross Hairs”]. The idea of travel should be to visit destinations that have some historic value. I don’t care for columns that mention hotels and restaurants as destinations. They should be considered tools for travel, not reasons for travel.
We visited each of the places mentioned in Spano’s column multiple times, except for Iraq. Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Oradour, France (visited each twice), are both very special.
