Coyote’s Visit Cut Short by a Tranquilizer

A wily coyote’s Excellent Central Park Adventure ended abruptly when he was felled by a police tranquilizer dart.
“It’s unusual to have a coyote in Central Park,” Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe said. “You’d have to be a very adventurous coyote to make it to Midtown.”
The 35-pound coyote’s brief visit to the big city will go down as one of those “only in New York” tales, one replete with the obvious question: How the heck did he get there? He will be released upstate, officials said.
