Women Held in Clashes Say Police Raped Them

Seven women alleged they were raped and 16 others alleged they were sexually abused by police who detained them during clashes in the town of San Salvador Atenco, said Guillermo Ibarra, an official with Mexico’s National Human Rights Commission.
Ibarra said his group had filed criminal complaints with the attorney general’s office in the central state of Mexico.
Mexico State Police Chief Wilfrido Robledo denied the allegations.
