Palladium going out with a bang

It’s Morrissey’s town; we just live in it.
The man they call Moz will play 10 nights at the Hollywood Palladium between Oct. 1 and Oct. 13 and, because the former Smiths singer is especially beloved by the black-clad legions of Los Angeles, you can expect him to sell out every night.
For the Palladium, the string of shows by the Manchester, England, native will close the place down, at least for a while; the Morrissey shows will be the final engagement before the 67-year-old venue is shuttered through September 2008 to allow a major renovation by its new owner, Live Nation.
The promoters are aware of Morrissey’s spell on his local fans: They are offering a package that lets loyalists buy tickets for all 10 shows for the price of nine. Those tickets go on sale Monday at 10 a.m. Single day tickets will go on sale Sept. 8.
