Iceman bled to death from arrow wound

The 5,000-year-old iceman Otzi, discovered in 1991 in a Tyrolean glacier, died when an arrowhead pierced an artery near his shoulder, causing him to bleed to death in a few minutes, Swiss researchers reported online Wednesday in the Journal of Archeological Science.
The presence of the arrowhead was already known, but CT scanning of the body showed the rupture in the subclavian artery underneath the clavicle.
