30-year mortgages stay flat

Rates on 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages remained at 6.24%, the same as last week, mortgage company Freddie Mac said.
Rates on 15-year, fixed-rate mortgages, a popular choice for refinancing, averaged 5.88%, down from 5.90% last week. Five-year adjustable-rate mortgages averaged 5.96%, up from 5.89% last week. Rates on one-year ARMs were unchanged at 5.50%.
These rates do not include add-on fees known as points. Thirty-year, 15-year and five-year mortgages each carried a nationwide average fee of 0.4 of a point. The one-year ARM carried an average fee of 0.5 of a point.
