Saying it all

RE “Marceau’s Bip Spoke Volumes,” by Lewis Segal, Sept. 25: Marcel Marceau represents a milestone in my life. He brought my husband and me together. My first real “date” with the man I have known for 36 years and have now been married to for 28, took me to see Marceau perform at the Shubert Theatre in Los Angeles. I was skeptical. The mimes I had seen were far from impressive. I feared my evening and my date would be disappointing. But watching Marceau perform on stage was great magic. He was fluid, emotional and rich, humorous and deeply compassionate.
I only wish more could have seen his artistry. It was not just quiet but silent. Yet it spoke volumes.
