Storm leaves injuries, damage

A powerful storm system including what appeared to be several tornadoes destroyed at least five homes in Breckenridge and injured at least three people, authorities said. Power was knocked out in most of the city.
Dallas-Fort Worth television station KTVT showed footage of damage at the area’s airport. A twin-engine plane sat amid the crumpled sheet metal that had been a hangar.
A large thunderstorm sent hail -- some chunks the size of a baseball -- pounding down around the Abilene area, damaging cars and homes, authorities said.
