2. Carrot Top at a Jay-Z bash? Only in Vegas! The mop-topped prop comedian got his party on at the grand opening of the rap mogul’s swanky sports club, 40/40, inside the Palazzo on Dec. 30. 3. Jay-Z, with jaw-dropping gal pal Beyonce, surprised LeBron James with a birthday cake, as footage of the Cleveland Cavalier played on plasma screens in a suite named after him. The eclectic crowd included basketball legend 4. Julius “Dr. J” Erving, right, who chatted with Alex Rodriguez; and 5. the Rev. Al Sharpton, who hobnobbed with songstress Mary J. Blige. The next night, Blige got heads scratching when she returned to the club to ring in the new year with Beyonce and Jay-Z, despite her supposed live appearance on MTV.
