Who: Tulsa (9-4, second Conference USA) vs. Bowling Green (8-4, first Mid-American East).
Where, when: Mobile, Ala., 5 p.m., ESPN.
Story line: Tulsa’s hurry-up, no-huddle offense produced a nation-leading 542.5 yards a game, and quarterback Paul Smith needs 247 yards passing to reach 5,000 for the season while wide receiver Charles Clay is 45 short of 1,000. Should both reach those marks, the Golden Hurricane will become the first team in NCAA history to have a 5,000-yard passer, 1,000-yard rusher, and three 1,000-yard receivers in a season. Bowling Green lags behind at 416.9 yards a game, but that should be plenty to take advantage of a Tulsa defense that is giving up 469 yards a game to rank 111th in the nation. Bowling Green has won four consecutive games.
Top players: Paul Smith (QB, Tulsa, Sr.), Brennan Marion (WR, Tulsa, Jr.), Tarrion Adams (RB, Tulsa, Jr.), Anthony Turner (RB, Bowling Green, Jr.), Tyler Sheehan (QB, Bowling Green, So.), P.J. Mahone (DB, Bowling Green, So.)
