L.A. students win TV awards

Three UCLA students and another from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena were among the winners of the 29th annual College Television Awards, handed out Saturday night by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation.
Nicole Haeusser and Ulrich Schwarz won in the drama category for “The Death Strip,” and fellow Bruin Michelle Tessier captured the top prize in the children’s category for “Camp Bean, All Things Woodsey.” Top honors in the category for commercials went to Jonas Mayabb of the Art Center for “Blowing Smoke.”
They and the winners in seven other categories -- from such schools as Cornell, Florida State, Northwestern and New York University -- were awarded $2,000 each in ceremonies at Culver Studios.
