Virginia 24, at No. 21 Georgia Tech 17: Cedric Peerman rushed for 118 bruising yards, including the winning touchdown with 3 1/2 minutes left, and the Cavaliers (6-2, 3-2) won their fourth straight game by beating the Yellow Jackets (5-3, 3-1) at Atlanta. Virginia, which had lost three of its first four games, rallied from a 14-3 deficit to take over first place in the Coastal Division.
at North Carolina 45, No. 23 Boston College 24: Hakeem Nicks had three second-quarter touchdown catches and ran for a score in the fourth quarter to help the Tar Heels (6-2, 2-2) defeat the Eagles (5-2, 2-2) at Chapel Hill. Trimane Goddard had an interception return for a touchdown for North Carolina.
at No. 24 Florida State 30, Virginia Tech 20: Greg Carr made two finger-tip catches on long pass plays to set up touchdowns in the third quarter and the Seminoles (6-1, 3-1) rallied from a 10-point deficit to beat the Hokies (5-3, 2-2) at Tallahassee. Graham Gano kicked three field goals and has made a school-record 13 in a row.
at Miami 16, Wake Forest 10: Robert Marve had a one-yard touchdown run to put the Hurricanes (5-3, 2-2) ahead for good, Matt Bosher kicked three field goals, and the defense stiffened in the second half in beating the Demon Deacons (4-3, 2-2).
at Maryland 27, North Carolina State 24: Obi Egekeze kicked a 20-yard field goal with six seconds left to cap an 89-yard drive and the Terrapins (6-2, 3-1) beat the Wolfpack (2-6, 0-4) at College Park. Da’Rel Scott ran for 163 yards and a score for Maryland.
