In Mid-American Conference games: Nate Davis caught the first touchdown pass of his career and threw two more scores to help No. 20 Ball State (8-0, 4-0) to a 38-16 victory over Eastern Michigan (2-6, 1-4) at Muncie, Ind. . . . Ontario Sneed capped a 68-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown run to lift Central Michigan (6-2, 5-0) to a 24-23 win over Toledo (2-6, 1-3) at Toledo, Ohio. . . . Junior Mike Salerno kicked a 30-yard field goal with 12 seconds to play to lift host Northern Illinois (5-3, 4-1) to a 16-13 win over Bowling Green (3-5, 1-3) at Dekalb.
In Conference USA games: Chase Clement passed for two touchdowns and ran for two more scores to lead Rice (5-3, 4-1) to a 42-17 win over Tulane (2-5, 1-3) at New Orleans. . . . Curtis Steele ran for 178 yards and two touchdowns to help Memphis (4-5, 2-3) to a 36-30 win over Southern Mississippi (2-6, 0-4) at Memphis, Tenn.
Elsewhere: Ricky Dobbs ran for 224 yards and four touchdowns in 42 carries as Navy (5-3) rolled to a 34-7 win over Southern Methodist (1-8) at Annapolis, Md. . . . Ian Smith scored two touchdowns and Army (3-5) had five sacks for the second consecutive week as the Black Knights earned a 14-7 victory over Louisiana Tech (3-4) at West Point, N.Y.
