NATIONAL BRIEFING / KENTUCKY

Mail carriers in 35 counties will deliver 600,000 fliers warning victims of a recent ice storm not to eat peanut products from their emergency meal kits because of concerns about salmonella.
Brig. Gen. John Heltzel of the state division of emergency management says no one has reported getting sick and the fliers will be delivered out of caution.
Some of the emergency meal kits contained peanut butter made by the Peanut Corp. of America, the source of a nationwide salmonella outbreak that has sickened nearly 600 people and been linked to eight deaths.
