Boston’s Tim Wakefield extends his mastery of Rays

Boston 10, at Tampa Bay 6: Mike Lowell homered for the Red Sox, Kevin Youkilis and Nick Green each drove in three runs, and Tim Wakefield (3-1) improved to 20-5 lifetime against the Rays, 10-3 at Tropicana Field.
at Detroit 9, Cleveland 7: Curtis Granderson hit a two-run homer in a decisive three-run eighth inning for the Tigers, who blew a 5-0 lead and fell behind, 7-6, before rallying to end their eight-game losing streak against the Indians.
Kansas City 10, at Minnesota 7 (11 innings): Joakim Soria (1-0), making his first appearance in 10 games after resting a sore shoulder, got the last five outs for the win. John Buck’s bases-loaded walk ended a 7-7 tie in the 11th.
Oakland 3, at Seattle 2: Gregorio Petit capped a three-hit night with a two-out single that scored Bobby Crosby from second in the ninth, breaking a 2-2 tie.
at Texas 9, Chicago 6: Hank Blalock homered, doubled and drove in four runs for the Rangers in a game that was twice delayed by rain.
Angels 8, at New York 4: Matt Palmer outpitched CC Sabathia for his second major league victory.
