Update: With a victory Saturday night, the Galaxy would secure the MLS’ Supporters Shield, which goes to the team with the league’s best regular-season record. That would also give the Galaxy home-field advantage through the first two rounds of the league playoffs, which begin later this month. The match may mean even more for the Rapids, however, since they’re locked in a tight race with Kansas City for the final playoff berth. Colorado needs a point in its final two matches to advance. That point could be tough to get here, though, since the Galaxy has won four of its last five matches.
