Former tennis champ Lindsay Davenport parts with her Laguna Beach home

Former top-ranked women’s tennis player Lindsay Davenport has sold a home in Laguna Beach for $2.835 million.

The house in guard-gated Emerald Bay had been listed for as much as $3.25 million last year.

Built in the 1950s, the ranch-style house features vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors and a pair of brick fireplaces. Formal living and dining rooms, a family room and a center-island kitchen are within 2,134 square feet of interiors, which also include three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The master bedroom opens to a brick-lined patio. An in-ground spa, a fountain feature, formal landscaping and a small lawn make up the grounds.

Community amenities include access to a half-mile beach, a swimming pool, a private park and tennis and volleyball courts.

The property had been offered for lease last year at $8,000 a month. Davenport bought the house in 2000 for $1.305 million, records show.

Harold Noriega of HOM Sotheby’s International Realty was the listing agent. Brad Trager of Surterre Properties represented the buyer.

A Southern California native, Davenport, 39, was the Women’s Tennis Assn. No. 1-ranked singles player on eight separate occasions. Among her career achievements are six Grand Slam titles and an Olympic gold medal.

She was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2014.
