Emmys 2014: Julianna Margulies wins for lead actress in a drama

Julianna Margulies on Monday won her second Emmy for playing the title role in CBS’ drama “The Good Wife.”
It’s Margulies’ third Emmy overall. In 1995 she won in the supporting actress category for her work on NBC’s hospital drama “ER.”

“Good Wife’s” ratings have never been stellar by CBS’ standards, although for Season 5 the numbers actually grew compared with the previous year, according to Nielsen — a rare trick for an established TV show to pull off. And its positive reviews and healthy award-show performance make it one of the most acclaimed shows on network TV.
Hosted by Seth Meyers, the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards are being held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, and the show is airing live on NBC.
