No wonder he sounded hoarse while presenting at the Emmys this year. Actor Jon Hamm is to go under the knife to remove a polyp found on his vocal cords. Lucky for fans of the “Mad Men” star, the procedure is routine and the polyp noncancerous. (Robyn Beck / AFP / Getty Images)
The Hollywood heartthrob finally confessed that he’s not single, but he’s left much to the imagination. All we know is that Levitt’s secret sweetheart is not in show business. “When the audience is watching me in movies, I don’t want them thinking about me and who I’m dating, and blah blah blah,” he said. “I want them to see the character, the story that I’m telling, you know.” (Chris Young / Associated Press)
West took to Twitter armed with expletives and caps lock when he found out that he was the butt of one of Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night parodies. An unfazed Kimmel revealed in a later show that the Chi-city rapper called to demand an apology. Instead, the TV host read each of Kanye’s tweets aloud, peppering snarky remarks throughout the recitation. Kanye? It’s your move. (Ilya S. Savenok / Getty Images)

Rihanna snapped a selfie with a slow loris in Thailand, where she was taking a break before playing Singapore, and the popularity of the photo led authorities to investigate how the singer wound up posing with an endangered animal. “Look who was talkin dirty to me! #Thailand #nightlife,” Rihanna wrote. Eventually, the culprits were arrested and their lorises were confiscated. The peddlers face a fine and up to four years in prison. (Theron Kirkman / EPA)
Actor Michael Douglas ended his acceptance speech with a cryptic mention of his son: “...a shout-out for my oldest son, Cameron, and hoping that...they’ll allow me to see him soon.” Turns out, the younger Douglas has been in solitary confinement, sentenced to federal prison for drug dealing. “Right now, I’m being told I can’t see him for two years. It’s been over a year now, and I’m questioning the system,” he explained briefly backstage. “At first, I was certainly disappointed with my son, but it’s reached a point now.” (Frederic J. In one of the biggest upsets of the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards, actor Jeff Daniels snagged a trophy for his portrayal of anchor Will McAvoy in “The Newsroom.” Daniels won over last year’s winner Damian Lewis of “Homeland,” three-time winner Bryan Cranston, repeat nominees Jon Hamm (“Mad Men”) and Hugh Bonneville (“Downton Abbey”), and fellow rookie Kevin Spacey of “House of Cards.” Daniels himself was surprised: “I’ve been neutral about this whole thing,” Daniels said backstage. “I’ve been nominated a bunch of times -- Google it -- enough to not hope too much.” (Kevin Winter / Getty Images)
The television actress and her husband-to-be, tennis player Ryan Sweeting, have decided to get married after only three months of dating. According to a source close to the star: “When you know, you know.” Seems like she was similarly sure about ending things with actor Henry Cavill back in July. That decision took less than two weeks. Thousands came out to see the beloved Beatles alum take over a section of Hollywood Boulevard to perform a few songs for “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” McCartney ripped through several Beatles classics and a few newer tunes. Justin Timberlake played the same venue the next day. (John Hill / Getty Images)
The basketball player finally spoke out about the drama surrounding his recent problems (arrest on suspicion of DUI, alleged drug use) after daddy Odom blamed the Kardashians for bringing his son down. “That man wasn’t even invited to my wedding,” Odom wrote. “He has never met my mother-in-law and some of my other family. How can a man who has NOT once called me to check on my well-being have the nerve to talk so recklessly about his own ‘son.’ He is my downfall! His own demons may be the ONLY thing he gave 2 me.” (Angela Weiss / Getty Images)
